Welcome to the Barossa Vintage Festival 2025

The first Barossa Vintage Festival was conceived in the dark days of post WWII. It was a way of buoying the spirits of the local community, celebrating the grape harvest, encouraging visitation to the region and boosting the local economy. There was indeed a great big party held at the Nuriootpa Institute (Soldiers Memorial Hall) nearly 80 years ago in 1947.

Now in 2025, the Festival is still a great reason to throw a party, particularly after the hard work of a pretty tough vintage. It is also a great way to tell the stories of our region, celebrate our culture and connect with each other and this place!

The Festival is a celebration of winemaking, our community, heritage, food, art and music. It is a time when we make memories, share stories, dance and indulge in the food, wine and culture that the Barossa does best. This year we are also running, stomping grapes, and singing together.

Each Vintage Festival is a little bit different - and so it should be. The Festival is an expression of who we are now and the stories and experiences that all of us can share. At its heart, it’s a fabulous reason to invite visitors, our neighbours, family and friends to (the) Barossa, to join the festivities. 

There are many moving parts to our celebration and many organisations are involved. They include industry, business, local government, sporting groups, schools, aged care homes, town committees and churches.  

We are very grateful to all of them - for making scarecrows, building parade floats, for the generous contributions of people, infrastructure, knowledge, grapes, cars, signs and so much more.
