As part of raising funds for Barossa Area Fundraisers for Cancer (BAFFC), Jordan Flentjar-Robinson of Saddleworth; Naomi Argent of Kapunda; along with Susan Pirch of Tarlee; shaved their hair off at Clare Castle Hotel, Kapunda on Saturday.
In five weeks they raised over $6,000 which will go straight to BAFFC patients.
Vinpac International, Angaston and Vin Callery Transport, Riverton both supported the fundraiser event.
“The three of us are very passionate about raising funds for this good cause,” Susan said.
“We all know someone who has been affected by cancer and have also lost their lives.
“This hit very close to home for me.
“My dad, Tim Harris has cancer and has unfortunately been given a time limit.
“I have also had cancer before as well as my grandmother.”
Susan said as BAFFC is an independent, passionate small group of women, it was an easy decision to support them.
“We also know that 100 per cent of the donations go back to the cancer patients,” she added.
“The work they do is just incredible as well as the high level of care.”
BAFFC Chairman, Tash Goldsmith said the amount of money raised is fantastic.
“It will now give us more opportunity to help the community and provide additional support,” she added.
“We hope to be able to purchase an AccuVein machine and add more products into our J-Care bags.”
