Ruby Schutz, a final year Pre-press apprentice with The Leader, has received a specially framed certificate as a Graduate Finalist in the Lithographic Institute of Australia Graduate of the Year Awards, following a special presentation evening held in Adelaide last Friday.

Ruby was accompanied on the night by her parents, Roger and Alison Schutz, of Point Pass along with Tony and Angela Robinson, from The Leader.

In a written letter supporting Ruby’s nomination, Tony Robinson, said Ruby is employed at The Leader where she is responsible for typesetting advertisements for the company’s newspapers and commercial printing.

He described Ruby as being very reliable and conscientious.

Furthermore, he said her name Ruby sums her up quite aptly as she truly is a real gem of an employee.

Ruby is now looking forward to her next event, where she is in the running for the FPLMA (Flexible Packaging & Label Manufacturers Association) Print Award, which will be judged in Melbourne at the end of the month.
