Traditional flavours bottled in limited edition gin

The Barossa Vintage Festival is renowned for celebrating wine, food, music and culture, and now it will feature a limited-edition gin, thanks to a collaboration with Seppeltsfield Road Distillers.

This year festival organisers have partnered with the team at SRD to create a unique and delicious gin inspired by Bienenstich, a traditional German cake.

The expertly-crafted gin has an infusion of honey, almonds, macadamias and German baking spices, which combine to give the tipple its distinctive character.

Ruth Blythman, Festival Director of the Barossa Vintage Festival says, “We’re over the moon to be collaborating with Seppeltsfield Road Distillers to make this one-of-a-kind gin.

“Their mastery in gin-making, combined with their commitment to advocating for local creativity and culture has inspired this special collaboration and makes this an incredibly exciting addition to our festival this year. We’re thrilled to showcase this exquisite gin to the lucky few who will be quick enough to secure a bottle.”

Only 400 bottles of the gin have been produced and it will be available for tasting and purchase at the Festival Hub and Seppeltsfield Road Distillers’ tasting room, while stocks last.

Head Distiller, Nicole Durdin is clearly happy with the final product, which she describes as being akin to eating a Bienenstich from Apex Bakery.

“We’re proud to support the Barossa Vintage Festival by honouring traditions of the past and adding a modern twist of our own,” Nicole said.
