‘Old Roots, New Ways’ is the theme for this year’s Barossa Vintage Festival Parade, and Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Angaston, has adapted the theme and named their float, ‘Old Boots, New Days.’

“The boot theme is about walking in our Father’s shoes, those who came before us and the next generation,” said Sarah Briones, parent and volunteer.

“Seedlings will be planted in boots and after the parade they will be placed into our nature area at the school.

“The vines are going to be shaped into Good Shepherd letters on the float,” Sarah said.

The Vintage Festival Parade has been a treasured tradition in the Barossa since 1948 and is one of the longest parades in the Southern Hemisphere.

Stake out your spot among the thousands of locals and visitors who line the route with pavement picnics, brunches and sausage sizzles, and be sure to pack your esky.

The Barossa Vintage Festival Parade will be held from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Saturday April 22, commencing at Tanunda and progressing via Barossa Valley Way to Nuriootpa.
