The SANFL has recently announced the introduction of a new Under-18s Girls competition, set to commence in 2026 and replace the existing SANFLW Development League.
The competition is designed to provide a more structured and sustainable pathway for emerging female talent, and will feature seven minor rounds, followed by a three-week finals series involving the top four teams.
