Tanunda’s Goat Square was packed from pavement to pavement last Thursday morning with a crowd of eager festival-goers keen to check out the Ziegenmarkt.
A crowd that was teeming with excitement listened intently and watched keenly when Auctioneer Brett Roenfeldt and his assistant James Fox rose above the rabble to call for bids on a range of local goods, from a giant Apex Bakery pretzel to vouchers, wine and produce.
While the auction may have been the focal point, there was certainly plenty more to keep the masses entertained.
Local vendors provided sustenance and sold their produce, from barbecue breakfasts to crumpets and coffee, and there was even appearances from a Clydesdale horse and a pen of goats.
Once again, the Ziegenmarkt proved to be an ever-popular staple of the Vintage Festival, with this year’s event only further building on its esteemed reputation.
Bellies were full and bank accounts lighter by the end!
