>> Vaughan Dohnt, store Manager of Crowies Paints Barossa.

Tell us the story of your business?
Who are the people behind your business, what makes you proud to be a business owner?

“We are a privately owned South Australian paint retailer. Our managing director Daph Crowhurst won SA Telstra business woman of the year in 2019 and has continued to lead the team through the tumultuous Covid epidemic, introducing new ranges and products to ensure the stores remain at the front of the industry. Crowies Paints are your local paint specialist.”

In your opinion, why is it important now more than ever for locals to shop in the Barossa?

“Unless locals support local businesses there will not be any local businesses.”

How does your business benefit the community?

“Crowies Paints is proud to be involved in many community events and sporting groups. Our staff are all locals and enjoy supporting their local communities.”

What do you pride yourself on?
What separates your business from all of the others?

“We are a proud South Australian company that employs local people. We endeavour to make our work place fun and interesting, training staff on the many aspects of the products they sell, assisting them in developing their skill set and their careers.

“We invest heavily in our teams.”

What services do you offer to encourage customer loyalty?

“We have a Crowies Club that enables all members to obtain 10 per cent off every product every day.”

What is the single biggest challenge that your business faces today?

“Staffing is the most difficult challenge we face at the moment.”
