SAPOL have confirmed that at approximately 1.22pm on February 16, a grassfire broke out in a paddock between Lange Grove and George Street, Williamstown.
Burning approximately two hectares of land, the fire occurred in the heat of the day, near a residential area.
The incident was well attended by 20 firefighting personnel, five fire trucks (tankers) and one bulk water carrier.
