Libs put their stamp on tax plan

A state Liberal Government would scrap stamp duty for first home buyers, under an ambitious new policy aimed at getting more young people into their own home.

The policy announced on Sunday would see first home buyers pay no stamp duty on existing properties up to a value of $1 million.

Leader of the Opposition, Vincent Tarzia, said the measure could save a first home buyer over $45 000.
