In 1823, a young John Howard Angas, aged 19, arrived in South Australia, having been appointed the role of managing his father’s various estates in the colony. 

John  settled at Tarrawatta, near Angaston, where he established a successful pastoral business and built a majestic homestead, named Collingrove.
